Customizing of Mandatory Fields

Information
  • Mandatory data fields are data fields which are to be filled mandatorily in a module. If you do not fill this field, you will not be able to save in this module.
  • Below you will find a guide for customizing mandatory data fields.
  • For further general information on mandatory data fields and their application can be found here.

Rules

  • The Mandatory function can be applied to all fields that do not accept an empty value or zero, since space or zero do not count as entry.
  • Using it for checkbox fields is not useful since here, a check only takes place for activated checkboxes.
  • Key data fields (Idents) do not have to be set to Mandatory since they are automatically mandatory entries so that, according to the data base rules, the record becomes valid.
  • For date data fields, the mandatory function has no effect. It is possible to save even if such a data field is blank. However, it can be queried using another DI.

Procedure

  • Activate the Mandatory checkbox for the required data field in the required data area.
