Information

  • In this module, all budget data of the selected period is displayed.
  • The portfolio budget can be entered and edited manually per cost type group in the Portfolio budget column (Cost budget portfolio for costs and Effort budget portfolio for effort).
    • In the Deviation column, the absolute deviation between the portfolio budget (Portfolio budget column) and the relevant budget (Relevant column) is displayed. Which budget is considered "relevant" depends on the settings of the p_project_budget_portfolio_relevant parameter. Depending on the setting, the name of the respective value and the explanatory text are output in the module header under Relevant budget.
    • Changes to individual budget positions (in individual cost type groups) cause an automatic update of the value in the Costs and Effort sum lines since the values of individual cost type groups are summarized to these sum lines.
  • The portfolio budget (Portfolio budget column) can be compared with the summarized planning objects (Projects + Proposals + Ideas line) for which a budget planning has been carried out in the selected period.
    • These planning objects are listed under the portfolio area. Their evaluation data is displayed additionally in the right window. The priority and hence the order of the planning objects is defined automatically on the basis of the evaluation data. The priority can, however, be changed manually in the Priority field. If the priority is changed, the order of the planning object within the corresponding area changes as well (the new order becomes visible after reselection (F7)).

Details

  • Via the Active checkbox next to each planning object, you can define whether the values of this planning object (except the values of the Approved column) are summarized to the portfolio (the values are immediately refreshed in real-time). That way it can be checked how portfolio values change with or without the selected object.
  • Via the Approved checkbox, you can define whether the budget in the Approved column of this project is approved and if so, the approved values of the project are summarized upwards to the portfolio.

Note

  • If the planning object data is changed and new status reports or new baselines are created and approved, the portfolio must be updated in the Portfolio module in order for the updated data to be displayed.
