SAP WBS MOD009COB New from DB 39.5.9

Access path

Information

  • This module provides
    • an overview of an SAP project structure imported from SAP or created manually, or an alternative structure as well as
    • an option to change this structure by creating new elements or deleting or moving existing ones
    • an option to link the SAP project structure to the PLANTA project structure by assigning PLANTA tasks to the SAP WBS elements in order to
      • enable comparison of the cost/effort values imported from SAP or created manually and those from PLANTA project, which is done on the basis of the link of both structures.

Note

Details

From DB 39.5.11

  • The linkage of the structures is done by assigning elements of a structure to those of others
    • either here in the SAP WBS module
    • or alternatively in the Schedule module.
  • The assignment can be done on each level of the task structure, i.e. both summary tasks and child tasks can be assigned separately.
  • The comparison of costs/effort is done on SAP structure level (alternative structure).
    • In the Actual costs, Remaining costs and Total costs or Actual effort, Remaining effort, and Total effort fields, the costs or effort of the task resources from PLANTA project are displayed.
    • In the Actual costs SAP, Remaining costs SAP and Total costs SAP or Actual effort SAP, Remaining effort SAP, and Total effort SAP fields, the costs or effort SAP WBS elements transferred from SAP are displayed.
    • In addition, a column with deviation value is displayed for each column pair.
      • NEW Since both import of the SAP values to PLANTA project and export of PLANTA project values to SAP are done via account assignment elements, PLANTA project values are summarized via the account assignment to the SAP WBS elements. ID of the account assignment elements equates to the ID of the cost type or cost center from which the costs or effort stem. If no account assignment elements exist on costs/effort, it is not summarized to the SAP WBS elements accordingly.
  • The sum line only sums up the values of all SAP WBS elements on top level. As a result of structure summarization, the values of the elements which lie below in the structure are taken into account in the sum.

From DB 39.5.10

  • The linkage of the structures is done by assigning elements of a structure to those of others
    • either here in the SAP WBS module
    • or alternatively in the Schedule module.
  • The assignment can be done on each level of the task structure, i.e. both summary tasks and child tasks can be assigned separately.
  • The comparison of costs/effort is done on SAP structure level (alternative structure).
  • NEW The sum line only sums up the values of all SAP WBS elements on top level. As a result of structure summarization, the values of the elements which lie below in the structure are taken into account in the sum.
  • Up to DB 39.5.10

  • Notes

    • PLANTA project values
      • All PLANTA project costs/effort values displayed in the SAP WBS module are based on the status of the last scheduling run.
      • Costs and effort on task level are displayed summarized from the resource costs or resource effort directly assigned to the task.
      • After changes were made and saved in the Budget module, budgets are immediately updated and displayed in the header area of the SAP WBS module.
    • SAP values
      • The SAP budget values changed in the Create SAP WBS Elements module are only updated in the SAP WBS module after you have clicked on the Recalculate button.
