Search and Filter

  • In PLANTA pulse, there are various options of searching and filtering for information.
  • This topics offers an overview over the different search options.

Search for Projects, Boards and Cards

Menu Search

Information

Search

  • Click the menu item Search or press the key S.
  • The search window opens.
  • Enter a search term and confirm by pressing Enter.
  • The search results are displayed.
  • First, boards are listed, then projects and then cards which contain the search term.

Configure search options

  • After a search term has been entered and confirmed with Enter, click the button in the search window.
  • The search options open.
  • You can configure whether the case should be matched.
  • Via a listbox, you can configure a search within a specific project.
    • By default, all projects of which the user is a member are being searched.
  • The card results can be filtered.
    • By default, completed as well as open cards are displayed.
    • By using the sliders (Completed/Open), only completed or only open cards can be displayed.
    • By activating the slider Archived, archived cards can be searched as well. They are not being searched by default.
    • Via the button Filter by Card Member, you can filter for cards to which a certain user has been assigned.
      • To do so, click the button and search for a user in the pop-up window or click the button Select Myself to filter for cards to which the current user has been assigned.

Details

  • If several search terms are entered, results which contain at least one of the search terms are displayed.
  • To find results matching an exact phrase, put the search term in quotation marks.

Filter and Search on a Board

Open board Sidebar Filter

Information

  • The cards of a board can be filtered by the following criteria:
    • Search terms
    • Labels
    • Members
    • Status
    • Dates

Procedure

  • In the sidebar, click Filter Cards.
  • Search on Cards
    • In the field Search on Cards, enter a search term.
      • You can also search for a card key.
      • If several terms are entered, cards are displayed which contain all terms in the provided order.
    • The following fields are searched:
      • Card key
      • Title
      • Description
      • Comments
      • Checklists
      • File names of attachments
    • The cards which contain the search term (or the card key) are displayed.
  • Labels
    • Click on the label(s) by which you want to filter.
    • Cards to which the selected labels have been assigned are displayed.
    • To filter for cards without labels, click Without Label.
  • Members
    • Without Member
      • Cards no members have been assigned to are displayed.
    • Me
      • Cards the currently logged-in user has been assigned to are displayed.
      • You can also filter for own cards by pressing the key Q.
    • Assigned to
      • By clicking on a member, you can filter for cards to which this member has been assigned.
  • Created by
    • By clicking on a member, you can filter for cards which have been created by this member.
  • Status
    • Cards on which the checkbox Completed has not been (”Open”) or has already been activated (”Completed”) are displayed.
  • Due
    • Cards with a due date that fits the selection are displayed.
  • Start
    • Cards with a start date that fits the selection are displayed.
  • Updated
    • Cards which have been created in the selected time span are displayed.
  • Added on
    • Cards which have been created in the selected time span are displayed.

Details

  • Filter criteria can be combined.
    • When several criteria out of different sections are selected, the cards need to match all criteria.
  • When the filter is active, the button Clear Filter is displayed at the bottom of the sidebar, which can be used to clear the current filter criteria.
  • Via the button Select All Displayed Cards, the multi-selection can be opened to edit the filtered cards together.
  • Via the in the upper left of the sidebar, the standard view of the sidebar can be accessed.
  • Filters can be cleared by clicking the X in Filter is on or by pressing the key X.
  • Alternatively, a filter can be removed by clicking on the filter itself again.

Note

  • Linked boards and cards are not filtered.

Filter and Search for Own Tasks

Information
  • In the panel Dashboard, a user can use a filter widget to filter the cards assigned to him/her.
  • Using a search widget, the user can search for a search term in the cards he/she was assigned to.
  • New widgets are always added at the bottom.

Add filter widget

  • If no widget has been added yet, click Add Widget and select Add New Filter Widget.
  • If a widget has already been added, select the option Add New Filter Widget in the widget menu .
  • New widgets are always displayed at the bottom.
  • Select the criterion by which the cards should be filtered in the listbox at the upper left. The following criteria are available:
    • My recently assigned tasks
    • All my tasks
    • My open tasks
    • My closed tasks
    • My delayed tasks
    • My tasks due in 7 days
    • My tasks due in 30 days
      • The last two filter settings also show delayed cards with earlier due dates.
  • A table with the filtered cards is created.
  • The cards are sorted by boards.
  • By clicking the card title, the detail view of the card is opened in the right area of the panel and can be edited.

  • If no widget has been added yet, click Add Widget and select Add New Search Widget.
  • If a widget has already been added, select the option Add New Search Widget in the widget menu .
  • New widgets are always displayed at the bottom.
  • Enter a search term in the field Search and select, if necessary, whether the case should be matched.
    • The term is searched for in card titles and card descriptions.
    • It can also be searched for a card with a certain card key.
    • If several search terms are entered, results which contain at least one of the search terms are displayed.
    • To find results matching an exact phrase, put the search term in quotation marks.
  • Click Search.
  • A table with the filtered cards is created.
  • By clicking the card title, the detail view of the card is opened in the right area of the panel and can be edited.

Note

  • When leaving the panel, the search in the search widget is cleared.
