Quality Gate Templates MOD009CTZ New from DB 39.5.10

Access path

Information

  • In this module, quality gate templates are
    • created
    • edited
    • deleted from
  • A template can contain one or several quality gates.
  • For each quality gate, you can define one or several todo items as objectives to be achieved.

  • Quality Gates are so called controlling elements which serve as a bridge between portfolio management and project management. Having a similar functionality like gates or master milestones of planning objects, quality gates serve to make the project implementation phase more transparent by means of date bound "project stage checks".
  • From a technical point of view, quality gates are tasks and are marked as quality gates in the database by the value "3” for the Milestone parameter.

Notes

  • A quality gate template is assigned to a portfolio in the Portfolio Core Data module. If a template is assigned to the portfolio, the quality gates they contain are automatically copied to each planning object which is included in the portfolio.
  • If changes are made to the quality gates in the template, they automatically influence the quality gates which have already been assigned to the planning objects of the portfolio. In order to update them, the quality gates in the Quality Gates module must be deleted from the planning objects manually and must then be reassigned.

    • As a result, the ID of the template is generated automatically.

  • Right-click on the template record and select Insert Quality Gate from the context menu. A quality gate record is created.

    • NEW Select the date of the project in the Start field and define the time interval in the Time interval field in order to calculate the time interval for the quality gate.
      • NEW When copying the quality gates to the project (in the Quality Gates module), the date calculated this way is automatically filled in the Date field of the respective quality gate and in the Date field of all assigned todo items. The automatically calculated and inserted dates can subsequently be changed by the portfolio manager if required.
