Notification in PLANTA project Up to DB 39.5.13
From version DB 39.5.13, the notification function is no longer used in the way described here. Automatic dispatch of information via e-mail to persons responsible is only possible via the
Send Info module.
Information
- In PLANTA project, project members (stakeholders) can communicate in the form of infos (messages). In PLANTA project, you can send info related to a user or a project.
Procedure
From DB 39.5.7
- How can I send info?
- All info items can be send via the Send Info module. You can open this module from the following modules:
- Who can I receive info?
- The multi-project manager (or another person with editing rights for the Project Core Data module) defines in the NEW Project Core Data module per project and stakeholder, whether the respective stakeholder can receive messages from the other project members, and if so, in what way these messages are to be received per project and stakeholder by making the respective selection in the Info per field.

- How and where can info be received?
- Program internal
- Displayed in PLANTA modules
- In the In-box area of the Info module.
- In the Info area of the Dashboard module
- Here, only info is displayed which concern the opened project.
- If you have modification rights for a certain project you are informed about new info regarding this project in the My Planning Objects. Here, you see a blue circle with the New title displayed in the Info field.
- New info is info which has not yet been marked as Read.
- As a pop-up
- If the employee to which a message is being sent is logged-on in PLANTA project, a small information window (pop-up) with the message and the sender is displayed at the right edge of the lower screen. By clicking on Show details, he/she can switch to the above mentioned Info module.
- When sending forecasts from the Work Reporting module, the message cannot be received via pop-up, even if this option is set-up for the recipient. The forecasts can then be viewed in the Dashboard module of the respective project in the Info area.
- Outside the program
- As an e-mail:
- Messages will be sent via e-mail to the e-mail address saved in the Persons or in the Users module.

How can I send info?

- By selecting an entry in the Info per field, the multi-project manager (or another person who has modification rights for the Stakeholder module) defines for each project and stakeholder in the Stakeholder module whether he/she can receive messages from other project members, and if so, how these messages are received.

Notes
From DB 39.5.13
- To send messages via e-mail, you have to make sure that
- the e-mail address of the recipient is stored in the E-mail field in the Persons module. If no e-mail address is stored, a message indicating this is displayed.
- the specified e-mail address is correct. E-mail addresses are not validated in PLANTA project, so in case you enter a wrong address, the recipient will not receive the e-mail.
- the correct IP address of the smtp server is entered for the smtp_server_address parameter in the Alpha (120) field in the Global Settings module.
From DB 39.5.6
If the messages are sent via e-mail, you have to make sure that
- the e-mail address of the recipient is stored in the Persons module. NEW If no e-mail address is stored, a message indicating this is displayed.
- the specified e-mail address is correct. E-mail addresses are not validated in PLANTA project, so in case you enter a wrong address, the recipient will not receive the e-mail.
