Portfolio Period MOD008BPO New from DB 39.5.0

Until DB version 39.5.0 the Portfolio period was edited in the MOD008BPO module. For description, see here.

Access path

Information

  • In this module, all budget data of the selected period are displayed.
  • The module serves to compare the budget. No budget or cost data can be changed or edited.
    • The portfolio budget (Portfolio budget line) can be compared with the summarized planning objects (Projects + proposals + ideas line) for which a budget planning was carried out in the selected period.
  • In the Deviation line, the absolute deviation between the portfolio budget and the authorized or requested budget of the planning objects (Projects, Ideas, Proposals) is displayed.
  • The assigned planning objects for which a budget planning was carried out in the selected period, are displayed in the corresponding areas (projects in the Projects, ideas in the Ideas and proposals in the Proposals area).
  • The assigned planning objects for which no budget planning is available in the selected period, are displayed in the Assignment without budget in selected period area.
  • For planning objects for which a budget planning was carried out in the selected period, the evaluation data are displayed in Window 2.
    • Through the evaluation data, the priority and hence the order of the planning objects is defined automatically.
      • The priority can be changed manually in the Prio field. If the priority is changed, the order of the planning object within the corresponding are (the new order is visible after reselection).

Details

  • Via the Active checkbox next to the planning object, you can define whether the values of this object are to be summarized. That way it can be checked how the total budget changes with or without the selected object.
  • Via the Approved budget checkbox you can define which budget of the object in question is summarized: the one authorized or the one requested.

Note

  • If the data is changed and a new status report or a new baseline is created and approved, the portfolio must be updated in the Portfolio module in order for the updated data to be displayed.

Assign Projects

Information

  • If the portfolio already contains planning objects, they are displayed in the Period module.
  • If the portfolio does not contain planning objects yet, they can be assigned to the portfolio via the Portfolio as well as the Period modules.

Procedure Press the Assign others button.

  • As a result, you switch to the Assign Projects, Ideas, or Proposals module.
    • Assign the required planning objects individually by clicking on the ID number of the respective object or
    • selecting several planning objects and clicking on the Copy marked button.
    • As a result, they are assigned to the portfolio and are immediately visible in the Period module.

Objective Contribution by Groups

Procedure

  • Select Group 2 from the listboxes in the Group 1 and Group 2 fields.
  • Press the Objective Contribution by Groups button.
  • That way you switch to the Objective Contribution By Groups module in which the objective contributions for the selected groups are displayed graphically and tabularly.
    • The bubble size is dependent on the values in the Total budget field.

  • Press the Objective Contribution All Groups button.
  • That way you switch to the Objective Contribution By Groups module in which the objective contributions for the selected groups are displayed graphically and tabularly.

  • Click on the Resource Simulation button.
  • Three modules for the planning overview of the project portfolio are opened First of all, the Resource Simulation module is opened, in which all projects, proposals and ideas assigned to the portfolio, are displayed.
