Edit Resources

Procedure

Attention

From DB 39.5.11

Up to DB 39.5.11

  • If resource parameters are changed in the Resource Data Sheet after period records have already been created, the changes are not applied to the existing period records automatically, so that they must be adjusted by deleting them and creating them anew. The procedure for this varies depending on the requirements:
    • 1: If the change is not to be applied to all existing periods, but only from a particular date on,
      • delete the periods and create them anew by changing the date in the End period field. For more information, see procedure 1 in the Delete Periods section. As a result, the new parameters are copied to the newly created period records.
    • 2: If the change is to be applied to all already existing periods,
      • delete the periods completely by marking the required resources and clicking on the Delete periods button, and subsequently creating them anew.

Create Resources

Procedure

  • Click on the New button at the bottom margin of the module.

Notes

  • It is only recommended to create new resources in the Resources module if these resources are no person resources.
    • Person resources are to be created in the Persons module in order to avoid inconsistencies between persons and the corresponding person resources.

Delete Periods

Procedure 1: Delete periods for a particular period
  • Fill the Start period and End period fields or change one of them and save.
    • As a result, all period records outside the defined period are deleted. See notes under Attention
      • If Start period and/or End period have been changed so that they lie outside the previously defined period, new period records are created when saving.
      • If changes have been made to the resource parameters before, they are applied to the new period records.
  • To delete the created periods completely, open the context menu in the Start period or End period field of the required resource(s) and select the Delete periods command.
    • By selecting several resources, the periods of several resources can be deleted at once.
  • Confirm the dialog message with Yes.
Attention

From DB 39.5.11

  • Vacation and absence
    • Vacation or/and absence data of the resources which are saved in individual period records are also deleted when the periods are deleted and must be created anew for newly created periods. NEW If you want vacation and absence data to be retained, you have to update periods instead of deleting them and creating them anew. For more information, see the Edit Periods section
  • Resource planning
    • If there is actual data when the resource periods are deleted, these hours are not deleted.
    • The remaining data is not deleted either, however, this is due to missing periods,
      • for resources with CAP load profile this is done on a day which equates to the calculated start date of the respective task.
      • resources with BLD load profile or without load profile, it is allocated evenly throughout the entire duration of the task.

Up to DB 39.5.11

  • Vacation and absence
    • Vacation or/and absence data of the resources which are saved in individual period records are also deleted when the periods are deleted and must be created anew for newly created periods.
  • Resource planning
    • If there are already reported hours (actual data) when the resource periods are deleted, these hours are not deleted.
    • The remaining planning of the resource (remaining hours) is not deleted either, but due to missing periods,
      • it is done for resources with CAP load profile on a day which equates to the calculated start date of the respective task.
      • resources with BLD load profile or without load profile, it is allocated evenly throughout the entire duration of the task.
  • Note

    • If at the time of deletion, the resource is already planned, and if new periods are created for him/her after deletion, a replanning must be carried out in order for the planning data to be written from the projects to the period records (DT468) again.
