The parameter can be edited by users with modification rights in the following module:
DI000804 Default max. load/day
Default value for maximum load of the resource per day
Details
- The Default max. Belastung/Tag value of a resource serves to preset the Max. load/day parameter when assigning the resource to a task in a schedule. If required, the preset can be changed on the resource assignment.
- The value is considered by the date scheduling when remaining loads (planning) are created, in contrast to the value of the Max. actual hours/day parameter which is considered when recording actual hours.
The value entered here has an effect on the following load profile:
- CAP
- The Max. load/day value is a threshold for capacity scheduling which is exceeded if necessary, e.g. if duration or requested dates are predefined for the respective task.
- If no Max. load/day has been set, the entire available capacity left is available for planning.
- The mere exceeding of the Max. load/day limit does not yet represent an overload, as overload is only determined on the basis of the available capacity of a resource. The resource only has overload when the availability is overrun.
- The calculation of the schedule works with the Max. load/day parameter as follows (provided that there are no further restrictions on the resource assignment, like e.g. requested dates):
- The required duration of the resource assignment used in scheduling is calculated from Remaining effort / Max. load/day.
- This duration is the starting value for capacity adjustment.
- Example: Remaining effort of the resource assignment = 100, Max. load/day = 5 The duration of the resource assignment is calculated as follows: 100/5 = 20 days.
- If several resources are assigned to the task, the task duration is determined as the maximum duration of all resource assignments.
- BLD
- If the Max. load/day field is filled in a resource assignment with BLD, the Remaining effort is automatically calculated as follows:
- Remaining duration * Max. load/day.
- During calculation of the project schedule, manual changes made to the Remaining effort are overwritten by calculated values. If you do not want this, you have to clear the Max. load / day field.
- For all other load profiles, an entry in this field has no effect.

From DB 39.5.7, DI058255 is named Default cost type name.
Up to DB 39.5.7
Up to DB 39.5.7, DI058255 was named Cost type name.
Name of the
Default cost type of the resource In input mode, a listbox for selection of a cost type will be displayed on the respective field.
Details
- The default cost type value of a resource serves to preset the Cost type of the resource assignment parameter when assigning the resource to a task in a schedule. If required, the preset can be changed on the resource assignment.
- During scheduling it will be copied to the load records. The cost type of the load records is then essential for the summarization of the costs to the cost type group and the display in cost and budget modules, e.g. in the Budget module.
Notes
From S 39.5.12
- The cost type can be changed both as default value in the master data of the resource (Default cost type) and on both levels of a project (cost type of the resource assignment and cost type of the load) at any time. However, the impact of the changes must be considered.
- If the cost type of the resource assignment (DT466) is changed, it is transferred to all new load records (DT472) of the resource assignment. In order for the cost type to be applied to the existing load records as well, the schedule of the project must be recalculated. (NEW unloading no longer necessary).
- Exempt therefrom are actual load records and manually created load records (i.e. those with MAN load profile). They are neither changed during unloading nor during calculation of the project schedule and must be adjusted manually if necessary.
- If the default cost type of the resource is changed, the new value is used as a default value for all resource assignments (DT466) that are created afterwards. The cost type of existing resource assignments, however, is not changed automatically, but equates to the default cost type applicable at the time of insertion of the resource assignment. It must be changed manually if required.
From S 39.5.2
- The cost type can be changed both as default value in the master data of the resource (Default cost type) and on both levels of a project (cost type of the resource assignment and cost type of the load) at any time. However, the impact of the changes must be considered.

- If a Left on date is set for a resource
From DB 39.5.4
If a Left on date is set for a resource, the NEW End period field is automatically filled with the same date. Up to DB 39.5.4
If a Left on date is set for a resource, it should be entered in the End period field as well.
Notes
- If a resource is planned beyond the end of his/her planning horizon (i.e. later than the date of its end period), the effects on scheduling results must be considered.
- If there is no availability for planned resources due to missing periods, scheduling surmises the availability to be unlimited (7 days week)
- To the BLD load profile, the following applies:
- the resource is scheduled for 7 days per week.
- To the CAP load profile, the following applies:
- the entire remaining load is planned on one day, i.e. the first day after the period.
- Since the distribution of the remaining hours on the task are done linearly, this leads to different calculations of calc. end dates of the task and the resource assignment.
- To all other load profiles, the following applies:
- loading in accordance with the curve definition
- If you do not want the system to behave in this way, you can proceed as follows:
- Alternative 1: Prolonging of the planning horizon of the resource in the Resource Data Sheet.
- Alternative 2: scheduling of the resource using MAN load profile.
- However, to prevent performance impairment, the planning horizon should not be longer than necessary. The planning horizon can be extended if necessary.

DI001238 Automatic work reporting
From DB 39.5.0
The parameter is no longer used.
Up to DB 39.5.0
Specifies, how the effort reporting is carried out
Values
- - hours worked are reported automatically.
- - hours worked are reported manually.
Details
- The starting point of automatic work reporting is the actual start date. Thus, setting an actual start date on the resource assignment or on the task is a requirement for automatic work reporting.
- If an actual start is entered which is earlier than the date of the first remaining load record, scheduling creates an actual load record with a value which corresponds to the previously determined remaining values per day for the period from the entered actual start to today’s date
- Actual effort is loaded on a daily basis until the actual end has been set. This may cause the posted effort to exceed the planned effort.
Calculation
Restrictions
- Automatic work reporting is only unique if the actual data of the resource assignment matches the task. Hence, resources with automatic work reporting should not be planned along with other resources or different dates in tasks.
- In automatic work reporting, the following parameters or settings are not considered:
- Work reporting lock Max. load / day
- Load Profiles
- values entered manually in Remaining load and Remaining effort are overwritten by capacity scheduling.
DI001239 Load limit %
Percentage value for the load limit of the resource. The
capacity adjustment starts at the value calculated from:
Available capacity *
Load limit %.
Example
- Load limit %= 120
- Capacity adjustment starts at 120 % load, i.e., tasks are only moved when this value is reached.

- If a project for which a specific resource is planned is currently calculated, this resource is locked for other calculations, so that no calculation can be carried out for other projects for which the resource is planned. * This is because the capacity scheduling checks the availability of every resource and corrects it respectively when loading in.
- The Calculation active code is
- set to when the calculation of a schedule starts
- set to when the calculation of a schedule ends
Notes
- If the program is terminated during capacity scheduling, the code must be reset manually.
- Several individual calculations can only run simultaneously if the projects do not share any resources.
Up to DB 39.5.12
DI001269 Capacity scheduling active
Information
- The capacity scheduling requires each source addressed by the calculated projects.
- If capacity scheduling is carried out for a project for which a specific resource is planned, this resource is locked for other capacity schedulings, so that the capacity scheduling cannot be carried out for other projects for which the resource is planned.
- This is because the capacity scheduling checks the availability of every resource and corrects it if necessary when loading in.
- The capacity scheduling sets the Capacity scheduling active code to
- upon start
- and resets it to upon end.
Notes
- If the program exits during capacity scheduling, the code must be reset manually.
- Several capacity schedulings can only run simultaneously if the projects do not share any resources.

DI002499 Resource to be planned
This parameter controls whether the resource is available for planning.
Values
- - resource can be planned.
- - resource cannot be planned. (such resources cannot be assigned to the tasks)
Notes
From DB 39.5.15
- If a resource is already assigned to a task, the checkbox cannot be deactivated. When attempting to deactivate the checkbox for a planned resource anyway, an alert is displayed with a list of the projects and tasks in which the resource in question is planned. NEW This list only contains projects and tasks in which the planning of the resource is not yet completed, i.e. in which no Actual end date is entered on the resource assignment.
- If actual hours are to be reported to the resource, the checkbox does not have to be deactivated.
- This parameter does not affect the summarization of the utilization in resource structures. If the Resource to be planned parameter is deactivated, the utilization of the parent resource is summarized to the parent resource regardless.

DI058253 Default cost center
Name of the default cost center (default organizational unit) of the resource. In input mode, a listbox for selection of a default cost center will be displayed on the respective field.
Notes
- The cost center can be changed both as a default value (Default cost center) and on both levels of a project (cost type of the resource assignment and cost type of the load) at any time. However, the impact of the changes must be considered.
- If the cost center of the resource assignment (DT466) is changed, it is applied to all new load records (DT472) of the resource assignment in the calculation of the project schedule. In order for the cost type to be applied to the existing load records as well, the schedule of the project must first be unloaded and subsequently be recalculated.
- Exempt therefrom are actual load records and manually created load records (i.e. those with MAN load profile). They are neither changed during unloading nor during calculation of the project schedule and must be adjusted manually if necessary.
- If the default cost center of the resource is changed (DT467), the new value is used for all resource assignments (DT466) that are created afterwards. The cost center of existing resource assignments, however, is not changed automatically, but equates to the default cost type applicable at the time of insertion of the resource assignment. It must be changed manually if required.
Details
- You can create and edit cost centers in the Cost Centers module.

DI008341 Left on
Date from which on the resource is no longer available for planning in projects, e.g. because the respective person has left the company
Details
- If a resource has left the company, the planning of this resource in projects must be checked manually and the remaining effort must be allocated to other resources. The respective department manager can do this via the Resource Planning module.
- The actual data remains unaffected. Otherwise, the planning would be invalidated. For this reason it is explicitly advised against the deletion of resources which have left the company.
- However, resources left should not be included in any further planning. Thus, they must not appear in the resource listboxes anymore. Therefore, such listboxes only offer resources for selection which have no entry in the Left on field. For more information, see Master Data Adjustment.
Notes
From DB 39.5.11
- If a Left on date is set for a resource
- NEW If a leaving date is entered in the Leaving date field in the Persons module, it is automatically copied to the Left on field of the person resource.
